This weekend, mixed synchro makes its return to official competition in Baku for the first World Cup event of the year.
It had already made its competitive debut at the third Trampoline and Tumbling World Cup in Antibes in 1984. The format of the World Cup, created by France on the initiative of Michel Rouquette, was somewhat different from that of today. At the time, only national champions were invited to take part in the competition. The French pair was Nathalie Treil and Daniel Péan, who finished in second place behind the English pair of Andrea Holmes and Richard Cobbing.
